What is your favorite feature of Mirrored?
My favorite features are the mix of art styles in the game and the boss battles.
How is the boss battles of Mirrored different compared to the competition?
I believe that the battles are made different due to the nature of the narrative direction and the symbolism behind them. The unique pixel style adds to placing them in their own class.
How do you connect with Mirrored or how is it special to you?
This game is special to me because I founded the game and the idea and have been working on it this whole time. Also, the game has a lot of elements from my own personal life in it that help to make it a special flagship game for my studio Live in the Game, LLC to produce.
Is there a “link” behind the name “Live in the Game”, and the subjects touched in Mirrored?
The studio name was actually introduced by my friend. It stands for the idea that the studio lives in the games it makes and that games should be “lived” as well. Games should be a prominent part of life for the studio and others.
The subjects from the games are centered on the narratives found within them. The studio and its title are promoting that we live in our games in every possible aspect and this makes the end products that much better.
How was Mirrored inspired?
Mirrored was inspired by an original idea that involved 3D gameplay and working with a co-op mechanic with other people to move across worlds to help each other get past puzzles through the use of mirrored areas in levels. The idea of the characters came from and the narrative came from my own experience as a child with dealing with change and how I had to work through problems from the eyes of a child and how others do. Logos is due to my nature as a cat person.
Is Lily inspired from a real person, or personality?
She is not inspired from a real person but is inspired by children who have to adapt to dramatic changes as they grow up and making this into a symbolic and visual representation.
Obviously, every member of a game’s team wants to see their project succeed. Where would you like to see Mirrored six months after release?
I would like to see it continuing to be worked on in the other derivative works planned for the game to come. I would also like to see the game continuing to be polished and also being pushed more to continue to encourage attention to it on the different channels and Steam ideally.
If money was not an object, what is your dream game you would want to make?
I would love to make a 3D version of Mirrored actually. The original direction would have taken way too long and have been expensive to do. That would be pretty awesome to see.
Like the Zelda 3D games (Ocarina of Time third person view) or the same overhead view in 3D?
The 3D version would be along the lines of 3rd person adventure games like those. It would provide players the ability to fully explore the story and the world of Mirrored from another perspective; one that would bring the characters and story to a more tangible state like the 3D Attic Hideout area.
